Artist's Statement
| xxxI seek out the unrevealed treasures within the visual world. My prospecting tool, a digital camera, taken into the field where I search for ripe situations: a pile of raked leaves; a roll of construction fencing; a kiosk of flowers; cloudscapes; roiling rivers; warped reflections; dewy mornings; patterns of sown fields and vineyards. In my studio, I concoct still-life pictures of food, beverages, flowers, and creatures -- real and imagined. xxxAny subject can be an element in, or the foundation of, my artistic expression. Images are the raw ore: stored, explored, massaged, manipulated, and exploited to create my art, my treasures, my Doublejay Visions. |
